Positive Looking and Creative Story Telling for Send
Creative Story telling for SEND and complex needs. Designed for use by Parents, Carers and Family Members in a home setting.
An exciting course opportunity. Created for those supporting children with vision impairment and/or complex needs at home.
A 6-week course: 6 x 1-hour sessions + 2 show and share resource sessions.
PART ONE: Positive Looking A practical explanation of visual skill areas. Visual attention, fixation, tracking, etc.
Activity 1: Learn how to create your own Positive Looking Toolbox of resources. Then gather your own and make a toolbox of resources to use with your child! Share your toolbox with the group.
DATES FOR PART ONE: 14.10.2020, 21.10.2020, 4.11.2020, 18.11.2020 (Plus a show and share on the 25th November)
PART TWO – Creative Story Telling for SEND Learn how to use a fun story to support visual skills.
Activity 2: Create your own fun story and make a box of fun resources that help you to tell the story to your child. Share your story and story resource with the group on Wednesday 10th February 2021! DATES FOR PART TWO: 6.1.2021, 13.1.2021 (plus a show and share session on the 10th February 2021)
Venue: ZOOM: (Recordings of this course will not be available to watch at a later time) Time: 10 – 11am (All sessions)
You will receive A Positive Eye Parents Positive Looking & Creative Story Creator Certificate. Awarded following attendance at all sessions and completion of activity 1 and 2.
Cost: £35.00 includes a quick reference guide to Positive Looking. The resources for the Positive Looking toolkit and story resource are not included. You will need to collect these items from your own resources. Places on the course are non-refundable.
