Multi-sensory numeracy opportunities are all around the child and exist in their everyday experience. They are waiting to be maximized.
In this course Gwyn from Positive Eye will share a rich wealth of fun ideas and resources created using low cost approaches. The ideas shared will demonstrate how easy it is to harness the many maths opportunities that exist in the everyday experience of the child through creative fun approaches.
To gain knowledge of how to support the development of numeracy skills through everyday experiences encountered by the child
The course covers ideas for early maths through a multi-sensory approach to maths including resources for:
Numerousness, Counting, Categorisation, Discrimination, Shape, Matching, Sorting
Everyday experiences demonstrated via a visit to the Post Office, the Cleaning Company, Lots of Cake Cafe, a Journey on a boat, the Hat Shop, the Market Adventure will provide many wonderful cross curricular learning opportunities highlighting the simple ways that numeracy skills can be supported and developed.
This course is suitable for all education practitioners working with children with SEND/Vision Impairment in the early years or special school setting.
