FANTASTIC SPECIALIST TEACHING ASSISTANT JENNA
I am going to use ALL the activities in the story pack with the children I work with in September. Marvin’s Seaside adventure is a fantastic story for all children, the resources that coincide with the book are brilliant, they are everyday items that can be found around the house, school or found when out and about (money saver). There are so many ideas that I will be using with my pupils within our one to one sessions and within the classrooms with all of their friends!
RECEPTION TEACHER LIZZIE
Is set to use the story of MARVIN’S SEASIDE ADVENTURE with her class in September. A lovely and engaging story about Marvin and his latest adventure. The book could have so many uses both within the classroom and the outside environment too! I’m most excited to use the story as an aid to develop the children’s PSED by making Marvin into our class mascot through exploring his traits and qualities.’
QUALIFIED TEACHER OF VI RACHEL says
As a QTVI working with children and young people with vision impairment looking for ways to stimulate senses, develop concepts and active hands on resources, thank goodness for Gwyneth’s wonderful new Marvin’s Adventure- it ticks all those boxes!
For those students with vision impairment and Complex needs it hits the spot because it provides the structure for a fantastic intervention turning the chapters of the new book into discrete learning experiences at a pace to develop concepts over a week linked to the story content.
Ideal for Early Years students with vision impairment/SEN it provides engaging learning opportunities linked to Prime and Specific areas of learning, development of story telling and role play with super opportunities to develop social skills too.
Students in primary school can explore concepts in greater depth linked into the national curriculum. On so many levels, the package with its support material, is a fantastic resource for special school settings, mainstream settings and a must for all primary, SEN and early years teachers to support all our students curriculum’s
AWESOME BOOK CLUB REVIEW
The books are great full of really good multi-sensory ideas to use alongside the stories. Gwyn has some videos on YouTube that I have enjoyed watching with my boys. You can see her passion and enthusiasm in the way she dresses up and delivers the stories. William particularly liked Beautiful Betty Bird and Thomas likes Princess Peggy’s Pink Ice Cream Parlour. The stories can be enjoyed by anyone but they way that they can be used and adapted for all children to enjoy is amazing.
As a teacher I know that it is always great to have some resources with ideas in ready to use with children in my class. All children can enjoy multi-sensory story activities.
