Testimonial - Positive Eye Consultancy – Iceland 2009.

Gwyneth McCormack is a highly competent professional in VI. She came over  to Iceland to work with the National Institute for Blind, Visually Impaired and Deafblind  individuals. There she worked with the department of QTVI where she worked with making policies and infrastructure. Ms. McCormack helped the team in setting  professional standards and setting  the child ´s needs in the first place. I would recommend to any professional in VI having  Ms.  McCormack  as a constultant in the VI sectore since her experience , expertise  and her supportive charisma brings out the best in every professional.  Whilst staying  at the service Ms. McCormack did a training for our mainstream teachers and also our professional VI teachers. She was so inspiring that many of our Mainstream teachers are now seeking for future education in VI. She has a way of winning people over and after the two day course she had our professionals thinking in a inclusive way and our VI students were no longer a „problem“ they make the teachers think how education can be accessible to all.

The feedback from our staff has been gratifying to say the least. The training on the role of the teaching assistant supported both experienced and newly appointed staff. The balance of information delivery, discussion and practical activity involvement made it a valuable and enriching experience for all concerned.

The high quality of resources used and training programme contents were first class. We would recommend Positive Eye Training to any group, school or organisation involved in the delivery of support or services for the Visually Impaired. - Mrs A. McManus, Deputy Principal & CPD Manger

Stockport Sensory Support Service

The feedback from staff was extremely positive. The information pre-course was clear and succinct enabling us to plan and inform staff of the afternoon. The course was delivered in a clear and structured format encouraging all staff, even the most reticent to become involved. The pack provided was again clear and structured giving useful and pertinent guidelines.

The positive impact reflects the knowledge and expertise of someone: skilled in working with children and young people with visual impairment; with the knowledge and understanding of a practitioner in the field; who is skilled in managing a team and all that entails; as well as personnel management. I see the training as the beginning of a series and hope to use the services of Positive Eye in the near future. Gwyn has the skills and expertise to tailor-make and meet many of our training needs. - Wendy Whitwell, Team Leader

Liverpool Hope University

Gwyneth McCormack’s training workshop held at Liverpool Hope University was extremely impressive and without doubt one of the best presentations I have seen. Gwyneth has an in-depth understanding of her subject and gives clear strategies and approaches to support visually impaired children. The practitioners were easily able to follow this practical hands-on session. Gwyneth combines expertise with warmth and a sense of fun, not a bad formula for a winning workshop. The practitioners enjoyed the afternoon and all felt they had gained greater awareness and knowledge. - Val Simpson (MSc Educational Studies)
